Original sets and lighting, live music, and a script and score that is rewritten for each hour-long playall define PlayTime Productions. But what defines PTP most of all is the 25-30 children who make up each cast. They come from third grade through high school, from many area communities, and with varying interests and talents. For many, this is their first experience in theater.
PTP's unchanging objective is to give children a solid theater grounding. Not only do these young performers act, sing, and dancethey gain experience in all aspects of the production, from putting on their own makeup, caring for costumes and props, and loading in the sets.
They perform in different theaters in many area communities and learn something new every time they step on stage. There even is a role for children who don't want to perform, but would like to help with lighting or costumes, or work backstage.
